Who knows, maybe the flaw gives UAL an out on their contract?

The RR engines on the 787 have some kind of severe design flaw. The current owners are restricted from certain ETOPs.

No, the A350's RR engines are Trent XWB.
The problem RR engines on the 787 are Trent 1000.
The XWB is a variant of the 1000 but I haven't read of any A350 engine issues. Yet. But it's too early to tell.
Edit: just found this article indicating that there's been an A350 engine shutdown. It also talks about the 787 problems. https://www.godsavethepoints.com/201...engine-issues/

Pun intended? Don't forget who made the English car gauges.

I had the pleasure of flying The Pig. I distinctly remember the pit of my gut descending to the floor when they told us it used Lucas Generators.
What was it, "Lucas, The Prince of Darkness" or "Lucas, The Company who Invented Darkness"

They’ll pass on the 321neo and wait on the max 11 to give everyone something to Grumble about.
I doubt that Boeing is going to make the 797 any time soon and there isn’t really a cost effective replacement for the 767. They may be forced to buy a bunch of 787’s to replace the 767 flying. The 321 neo’s may turn out to be an efficient replacement for the 757 fleet if the price is right. We’ll have our answer about the time the Florida base opens.

Only thing that can replace the 757 is the 757.
