NSNB. Perhaps??
How did we miss this one?
United "very seriously" looking at small narrowbody jets
Hope it's true. We shall see . . .

Been awfully quiet on both sides of the negotiating table.

Quiet is good. They came to us early for scope relief and now they’ve found out that it’s not for sale and there’s nothing to announce. I don’t think that we can force all flying back in house with one contract, but holding the line will get the ball rolling. They can have lots of rj’s now. Buy something like the e190e2 or a220 at mainline and they get some more rj’s for the regionals. If they want more than that, we fly them. Simply holding the line and forcing them to do what Delta did will be a huge first step.

Actually if they buy a NSNB they will get less Rj’s at express just more 76 seaters. We currently have close to 600 Rj’s at express with a NSNB order that number had to go down to close to 450 albeit with more 76 seaters.

Help me with your math. Where are you getting that number? UPA Paragraph 1-C-1-g-5 and 6 give examples where it appears the number of 50 seaters would only be reduced by 3 to 5. Am I reading that wrong?

For each 76-Seat Aircraft added to United Express Flying above 153, remove from United Express Flying a number of 50-Seat Aircraft no less than X, with the resulting number of 50-Seat Aircraft to be removed, rounded to the closest integer.
Example 2: If the number of 50-Seat Aircraft in United Express Flying is 488, then FSFC- 125 equals 363; when 363 is divided by seventy (70), then X = 5.19.
That the way I read it if they go to max 76 seaters with a NSNB order.
So best case for parking 50 seaters is they get 70 additional 76 seaters but they have to park 350 50 seaters.

Id also like to add that the E195 E2 has been lengthened by two rows since C2012. Its now 120+ seats in a dual class config. Just a couple seats shy of a 319 or 700. If they do decide to go with a SMNB, this is the path they most certainly will take, at the expense of some of our older 737s (700s).
