Default Denver winter vacation travel tips

I’m hoping to gather some info, and hoping some of your experience can help make a ski trip easier, and cheaper.

1. 4skiers w/gear
2. I’m using Epic passes.
3. Using myUADiscount tickets
3. Car/SUV rental-using the perkspot portal so far for UAL deals. Have access to mil & AAA. Where can I get a mid SUV for the best deal?
4. Housing-May split between two locations for 10 days of skiing. Maybe Half Breck, half day trips from central spot. Looking at Airbnb so far.

I haven’t done CO in 15+ years. Any ideas?

Costco Travel often has good deals on rental cars. And this summer, the best deal by far on a one way rental was letting the United reservations lady book the car rental with hertz. Saved well over $100 for the week vs. Costco or AAA. Plus we got some bonus miles.

I used to rent a house in Dillon for many Colorado ski vacations. Dillon is centrally located to Winter Park and Mary Jane (Moguls), Breck( terrain park), Copper, A-Basin, Keystone (night ski), and short enough to Vail (back bowls) and Beaver Creek. Used to get great deals on homes with Jacuzzis. And much cheaper than staying in a resort city to get a big house for lots of room.

Last time I used Hertz and picked up the car in Aurora. It was cheaper to Uber to the offsite location for a SUV than pick it up at the airport location.

I've booked with Hertz's Quebec location a block or two away from TK a few times:

Denver - Stapleton HLE
Select for Reservation
3535 Quebec
Denver , Colorado , United States , 80207

I just hop the TK shuttle and walk to the Hertz.

Grab a place in Silverthorne/Dillon or Frisco to be the most centrally located. Otherwise any of the big resorts have lodging with Breck being the best overall town around.

I'm a local so if you need any specific info sans discount/UAL related happy to help, we're having a great start to the season so far.

Welcome back to Colorado and don't drive like a Jerry

Check the United Hertz discount code. You get VIP status and pretty good discounts. I have gone cheaper but always HATEEEE the experience.

Since you’ve got the Epic, you’re looking at Vail/Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and maybe A-Basin depending on the type of Epic pass. Breck is probably busiest on any given day, particularly weekends, but worth the visit. Vail is huge and usually fantastic. Beaver Creek gets a lot less traffic. On a given day, you could spend the morning at Vail, afternoon bowls at Breck, and night ski at Keystone. Dillon/Frisco and Silverthorne are the usual off-mountain condo locations for rentals, centrally located. I-70 will turn into a complete disaster westbound on Friday and eastbound on Sunday, so beware. Have fun, see you there!
