ME carriers fly into IAH because we don’t compete. Most of the W/B there now are ancient junk. We could easily lose HNL, SCL, GIG, GRU,LIM to anyone that came in with reliable equipment built in the last 20 years.
Gas prices????? The oilfield is hot, the rig count is high. This recent oil price dip is not permanent, but the young Turks in ORD don’t understand this market.

While IAH is certainly still on ice, it is my understanding that the company would like to grow the hub. Apparently the baggage system and various infrastructure details need to be updated/expanded for that to happen. Supposedly, that is happening and near completion, thus allowing for growth in the near future. Just my thoughts, that are worth what you paid for them!

That would be one thing that those young Turks would be looking at when choosing which hubs to expand.
