Wisest? Pretty subjective. This overall last few years of rebranding being a good idea, vs the cost? Heck yes. This seems to be a very good direction overall IMO - not perfect but aiming in the right direction.

I think what is really import here is the fact that someone got paid millions more than you will ever make, to take the existing livery and make it all blue and make the straight line a little wavy.

Any guesses? I’m imagining some form of the 787 scheme with different colors and that’s about it. No tulip. (RIP)

Also, how will this affect profit sharing? Asking for a friend.

Ewwwwwwww...

It was absolutely necessary. Not only was the old look dated, but a fresh start was needed to move past all the PR of the past year and a half. Though, by reading the comments you’d think pilots should be entitled to the entire marketing budget.

I wish we would bring back the "Tulip" because it's iconic and historic!!!

The old scheme looked like they took the CAL planes, whited over the CAL name and used public domain typeface to paint UNITED along the top.

At least this job looks like someone put some thought into it.

At one point right before BK, Delta had planes in at least three different branding configurations, maybe even four if you counted "sky team" as well.

I guess I don't pay enough attention because I literally can't tell the difference. United on the side - check. Globe on the tail - check. Same same.
