Just today, while doing doors training, one of the instructors was talking about the G building, and I half joked about the 350 sim. He told me without batting an eye, “it’s in storage in Canada.”

So did we actually tack on two more to the order or what?

According to the spreadsheet on the official Airbus order website, no.

If you tried it, you'd realize that you don't hear gum-smacking or nose-breathing. That usually offends even the person creating the noise long before the other person complains. That's usually self-remedying.

In all the corporate flying I did we ALWAYS had hot-mike (well, except for the LR-24/25) and it was far less fatiguing.

Yesterday, I commuted to EWR on Southwest in the jumpseat and they almost exclusively (save for a few old crusty deaf guys) use the hot-mike setup. Their audio panels are setup for it and it is so much better than the "one-ear-off" BS. In the photo, the switch I circled limits the audio in the headphones to either RADIO-only, or if in INT position, you hear radio AND hot-mike. Transmit functions aren't affected (meaning, you don't have to constantly switch from INT to RADIO to xmit)

You're just creating hypotheticals that just aren't a factor.

I use the Bose and have to turn the intercom to almost off so I don’t have to hear breathing. Gum chewing is the worst. And if you aren’t talking actively why have it hot. Just bring the rubber banded switch to off.(especially if you chew gum or have stuff in your mouth) Rocker switch works for brief convos. More than one way to choke a cat. And I do turn it off myself when not actively talking

Not in storage, it's at Air Canada's training center for use in the Star Alliance.....
