Care to explain that one.

Well, that’s good to learn and that explains how I traded a 5 day HI trip for a 3 day open trip. Was wondering how that happened. Though impossible to trade into a trip with lesser days.

Are you suggesting that leaving the 777 overstaffed in ORD is cheaper than a bump bid? I doubt it. And any bumped pilots who take a 777 to a different domicile don't even need to do training.

Wow thanks Andy after 34 years I didn't realize that someone staying on the same plane but switching bases doesn't have to go through training. You sound like you are on the management team here always miles a head. Enjoy

We are still waiting to hear how the way this whole thing is going down is costing the company money. So instead of chastising Andy, why not enlighten those that are curious about your statement.

Exactly....More precisely, how is exercising a contractual protection for the pilot group costing us future dollars? On the company side, I don't think they would initiate a fleet utilization plan with the intent of a negative result.

Where are the 777s going? Has anyone figured that out yet?

As of the last snapshot, 34 of 61 with listed bids are going to the 777 at other domiciles.
I'd love to see the math as to how this is more expensive than leaving the ORD 777 overstaffed. Since I'm not management, I have no secret insights into the costs of displacement but this one appears to be a lot cheaper than leaving the overstaffing in place after ORD-HKG goes bye-bye.

It sounds like you didn't think it through before posting. That's fine; we've all posted at times in error. My go-to youtube clip for this situation is Emily Litella: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjYoNL4g5Vg
