Oddly, I find the plane to be a let down, but one leg a day is pretty nice.
Yes, there are not that many destinations on SFO 757's, but until you are able to explore all of Boston and Manhattan, I'd say it beats Allentown, Mexico City, and Fresno.
I guess it depends on what kind of "variety" appeals to you.

Let down compared to what? 757 is the best narrow body Boeing ever built, I loved my time on it.

Probably a letdown from his previous “Lockheed product”

Once you’ve flown the L-1011...every airplane is a let down.

I would rather fly nothing but redeye two day transcon trips on the 757 than fly anything on the guppy. Those two day trips are extremely productive, and with a duty day of maybe seven hours, you've got plenty left in the tank for actually enjoying yourself.

Variety? How about the variety of twelve hour days with two bag drags and three legs flying the nastiest handling, most uncomfortable airliner ever devised by humans, all for the same amount of pay as a leisurely trip to Lexington and 48th on an airplane whose flightdeck you can stand up in.

As far as reserve right now, you'll be working or short call. No FSB.

Well to each their own I suppose. I left the 757 and not going back until I can avoid red eyes, which is pretty much all that plane does. All the bad stuff about the 737 is blown out of proportion. Unless your fat, it's just fine.

I'm in agreement 100% however I wonder how long until the 757 flying gets replaced by the Max.

Everyone talks about variety forgetting that variety also means spending 30hrs in Tulsa or Detroit in February. I've seen enough variety.

I'm sure I'd love it if I got to fly an airshow routine in it. However, for the benign and gentle flying of 121 flying, it doesn't matter to me.

It it were the "best narrow body Boeing every built", then why is it out of production?

The cockpit layout is abysmal. And the "extra space" behind me is of minimal use when I'm in the right seat.

There are about another dozen or so really weak things about the aircraft that I don't care for... but it will just lead to more bickering amongst the masses.

Then there's the lack of intercom...

Pilots desire that. Nobody wants to be trapped in a European country.
