You can board first if you are listed as a flight deck jumpseat. If they give you a boarding number because of seats in the back you're supposed to board in your group number. If I see anyone I bring them down and make sure they get settled regardless.

Our pilots regularly go out of their way to make sure offline pilots get bags on. I put them in the cockpit (737) as my roll behind fits next to me where the ship set used to be. This online listing crap has to stop.

that’s not correct... all jumpseaters are encouraged to come down first. Stow you’re bag, take an aisle seat and we we call you if needed, nothing has changed.... unless you have a difficult gate agent, but we will do anything to help you get on, most guys will walk to the top and enquire about jumpseaters

Thanks for the info. Good to know. Always been treated well by the pilots. No longer commuting but still try and take care of commuters on my end as one can never say never when it comes to commuting again in this career.

The trick to pre board is to volunteer to take a wheelchair down. This works even if you are sitting in the back. They don’t have the ”special squad” we have at UA to move their wheel chairs around, so they get gate agents and a few volunteer pilots to do it. CAUTION - there’s always a liability involved whenever you touch a wheelchair (which is something I was taught early at CAL) as you have no protection if something goes wrong. This is why you don’t see pilots at UAL help with a wheel chair. But, you can roll the dice at SWA to get down early. I’ve done this myself a few times.

I Jumpseated on SWA a few days ago.

EZCCS would not work for listing. However I was able to do it on my laptop via the link on Flying Together. Looks like it still will not work on EZCCS.

I pre-boarded... always have. Never been a problem. Other than EZCCS failing, I find the process quick and easy.

As a JSer, you are REQUIRED to preboard if possible according to the SWA flight ops and ground ops manual. This is to check in with the captain and stow your stuff.
If any of you are denied or given any trouble about preboarding, please inform the captain so that he can follow up.
No wheelchair pushing required, although I am sure the ops agents appreciate it. I don't think you would be covered if a wheelchair pax got injured while you are pushing.
