The 75 is a great airplane that can't be easily replaced. The number of opportunities for a capable airplane in western europe, caribbean, and south america are too big of a competitive advantage for us to mothball the whole fleet. The a321xlr has potential but with a hefty price tag and 5 yr delivery. These are paid off, known quantity planes with crews in place that know how to fly them. The 767 is going to be workhorse for another decade with few maintenance surprises. We know the 756 fleet and they are cheap lift if oil stays low. I don't see us parking anything but the hangar queens.
More validity from you (Aquaticus/July 2014) that from someone who just created an account in Apr... Just saying.

the company could have kept 1 single 757 flying between EWR and ORD per day as a turn and wouldn’t of had to do jack. so in a way this is better than we could have gotten. If the company was thinking of a way to screw us out of pay they didn’t think very hard. SK is a gambler.. it's a known fact (base on an interview he gave last year. About going to Vegas, being thrown out of a casino for card counting [supposedly].. lol). They had a plan for May based on the world starting to reopen. They had a plan to try and lower labor costs by ESLR/No Fly Line. Things changed. They decided to change the utilization of the fleets. So they (temporarily) are parking the 756 fleet for a month. They ACTUALLY did the right thing by fixing the pay for everyone affected by the change in direction. They could have just as easily flown a handful of routes on the fleet and kept thousands of pilots on the hook. For once, the 756 fleet is actually getting a good deal. Think about that for a second. Take off the hatred glasses and realize the sun continues to shine and every day we get one day closer to a cure, a vaccine, re-opening of the World/Economy and some sense of new normal. Always Motch (Yupe.. I'm back) |

I heard the coronavirus can last for up to 24 months inside a parked 757.
The story was in a non-peer reviewed journal published by the Republic of Congo department of scientific amalgamation in affiliation with several Chinese scientists on loan from Wuhan jail. Their data showed that, if a certain 17 conditions were met for a certain unspecified time period, then this could happen better trust these scientists, stay home, and shut everything down |

This is a copy of the court case regarding the Spirit Pilots and their lack of picking up open time. They lost and the Court effectively made the Spirit Pilots pick up open time. |

It surprises me that you don't understand the games that the company is playing. Anywho, it's too nice of a day to look at screens any longer. Enjoy your afternoon. Cheers. |

Just to clarify, the court said they had to pick up opentime, but they cannot actually force individuals to pick up opentime. More of a symbolic gesture than anything. That said I wouldn’t advocate job actions or anything else nefarious on an only somewhat anonymous forum.

It's easy to be sunshine and roses when times are good. Between the lack of a contract for the past 1+ years and the way they handled the '67 groundings, he has shown me he is no different than any other airline CEO I've worked under. It's crystal clear to me what type of management we are working with. Not ****ed at all, I just know the game.

I’m aware of the games but I don’t see one chess move and blow a gasket. |

you say has been a bad deal for our fleet besides 767-300 pay and meh rest facilities? For the most part I see this fleet as a gem. Very easy, some might say boring domestic trips, unrivaled European destinations out of EWR and incredibly satisfying airplane to fly as well. I truly hope this is not the end of the road for this fleet. I have truly enjoyed my time on her and all the places she’s taken me. |
