United has made pilot furlough statements. Here's one quoting Quigley from way back in May. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danielr.../#53663ec92bf5

Maybe 89pistons can PM you with his phone number and you can discuss this with him? He's looking for someone to talk to...

That's funny. I'm not looking. But some conversations are better had off of the internet. And it was an attempt to keep the thread on topic instead of deviating based on a forum disagreement. Sorry if that approach rubbed you the wrong way.

Xjt complete workforce is getting WARN letters announced today due to uncertainty of the future at this time. Maybe mainline is going to absorb all regional flying in house and fly the 76 seaters.

Didn't rub me the wrong way at all; I just found the rejections hilarious.
As far as veering off topic, I'd say you're just as responsible as others for veering off topic.

Management put out broad furlough estimates quite a while ago and haven't altered them.
And yet there's no early retirement packages announced.

Management is playing their cards close to the vest for now and we don't know what they've got up their sleeves. I'll speculate that since they haven't announced an early retirement package AND we're flying all of our 787s, they may have something bold cooking that they're trying to keep under wraps for as long as possible.
Further speculation: there may be a huge hole in international flying that will need to be filled due to so many foreign carriers being in serious trouble.

Still, I find it odd that they didn't just send out a ton of furlough notices (which can be rescinded) last week. Have any of the other majors sent out furlough notices yet?

That's fine. I went back and read all of my posts yesterday and only replied directly to what someone stated. Didn't see where I deviated from what I directly quoted and tried to take the conversation off thread. Which did occur via PM the folks I had the exchanges with. We're cool now, which was the goal, so I'd say it worked.

DAL sent out a slew (2550-ish) prior to this past Holiday.
