320 CA to guppy FO.....missed a lot of branches on the way out of the tree.

China trimmed the tree allowing quicker descents to rock bottom for all.

Some initial numbers from the NB side -CA - Total Pre-Bid (Displaced) / Total Post Bid
737 - 2104 (612) / 1837
Bus - 1120 (420) / 917

FO - Total Pre-Bid / Total Post Bid
737 - 1868 / 3011
Bus - 1008 / 2050

So, total number of Bus/737 CAs system wide drops to 2754 from 3224. Total number of Bus/737 FOs system wide goes from 2876 up to 5061. 2307 more NB FOs than CAs after this bid alone, cross your fingers that the next displacement is nowhere near as big. I'm going to slug down some liquid courage and look for my resume while I wait for it to come out.

TheSoCalGuy had a nice post the other day comparing PCs WB targets vs. tentative head counts. Would love to see an update on that with final numbers from this bid, as it will give an idea of how many more NB FOs might result from the next one. Furlough estimate

Chess not Checkers.
Company is playing Chess. Please, don't play checkers!
On the 2nd of May, MOAD bid came out.
Min/Max for EWR756 FO was 77.
I'm Displaced.
Laughable.

The company (SK at the top spot) gambled on a decrease of flying or at the worst, status quo. This probably went down some time during the last week of April.. Things were kind of bad. I'll admit. But keep in mind, SK Is a GAMBLER. And we are chips in a way~ (Black Chips!)
A week later,.. adjustment. (anyone ever heard of that before?!)
All of a sudden the Min/Max for EWR756 FO is 217.
hmmm
No longer displaced.

Tonight the award is released (on Memorial Day weekend.. which should INSULT us all)..

So now I'm showing at 231 in Cat and at 65.6%.
But wait- The Min/Max is 217 per the adjustment on the 8th of May.
Will be Displaced again?!
The guy at 100% is actually U259511. A displaced EWR 777 FO.

The company and SK are playing games with us. He's a gambler and he's trying to scare the pilot group while enticing the bottom of the list into E-SRL which just saved him thousands of pilot hours.
Guys & Gals.. start thinking ahead a few steps. The next displacement bid will come out in the next week or so. An adjusted to the overstaffing of this cluster****.. and an adjustment to their fleet/route plan for this Fall and the summer of 2021. Life is coming back slowly.

Do Not Fall into the FEAR
For the bottom 1000-2000 pilots.. understand this. We WILL make your furlough as painful and expense to the company as possible. That is not a threat. Just a statement.
SK is a gambler. When he's at the table, he's playing against the House.. but he's also watching the players around him.
It's not Personal.. it's business.
Stay Strong.

Generally, I don’t they’ve got too much to clean up. They need to level out the 787 from the overstaffed to understaffed domiciles and clear the guys who were stalling for time out of their intermediate bid of 756 FO seats, for example, to their final NB seat. Maybe a few hundred more to push into the NB FO pool....and then of course that’s the group upon which the guillotine will fall.

The min/max is meaningless in a displacement. You can bid wherever your seniority can hold. Period. Carlson has been here before. Multiple times. So he went deeper than he wanted the end result to be, anticipating (guessing) where people would bid. This strategy will result in some overages and deficits, but overall it will lower the number of displacement bids required vs what we've seen in the past. IOW, quicker downgrades and pay-cuts for many. This is a desperate company doing what it can to outlast the cash burn and maybe avoid bankruptcy. Sure they'll come at us for concessions, and I agree we should hold firm and not be fearful. But this isn't some grand scheme with poker chips and chess boards. This sh!t is real.
