Really? Kirby planned and orchestrated the pandemic and caused the worldwide lockdown, then reached into your pocket and took your money? Even if, as you say, it was involuntarily, your statement is incredibly absurd and incendiary. I think that it's a good idea to once in a while get out of the house and take a look around at what's happening to so many people in the world. Maybe then we can realize that what we have, even going forward to a very challenging future, is not so bad.

the pay cuts due to downgrades is contractual he is within his right to force them on us.....but to say shared sacrifice and think he’s getting more?

Why is everyone so upset? Kirby has rallied UAL’s stock price to outpace every other airline. He’s doing great things for the group of people that matter to him most - Wall Street.
Consumers can suck it and go fly another airline.

Just my Cynicism & thoughts from a 2000 hire 2 time furloughee of 8.5 years plus the loss of 8 years seniority on top of that with the seniority integration who just went from nb captain to a possible third furlough come October 1st-yes I'm still that junior but seeing what's happening with how UAL is handling these reductions compared to our competitors just doesn't add up? I seriously wonder if this was a long ago hatched plan by Doug Parker & SK to publicly announce that DP would not be stepping down from AMR to let SK take over so SK finds his way to UAL. Literally 2 seconds after SK takes over he has most of us downgraded & or on lower paying fleets & ready to furlough. YES I KNOW HE DIDN'T START COVID BUT IT SURE HELPED HIS CAUSE! Everyone else is picking up the pace on reinstating flights except us & on the town hall yesterday with BQ he basically said the other airlines are full of s..t with their traffic reports? Are we being set up for a sell to AMR where SK will make his $$$ regardless of wether he has to work under DP or maybe take over at the combined AMR-UAL when the dust settles? Meanwhile all our careers are F....d!!! Again for some of us!

i believe Kirby when he says he wants to come out the other side of this running and driving to be a powerhouse. I believe Kirby when he says he wants to grab market share and out grow the other three domestically. I believe Kirby when he says he wants to be the worlds go to airline.
heres the problem he wants pay cuts so he can go at the throats of our competitors. Just think what we could do if all our costs were 25-30% cheaper than everyone else....no one would be able to compete.
so he has made MASSIVE staffing changes because he can. He can fly 100% of his schedule for the next 6 months atleast. The cigs are sitting at home so who cares what they say they fly. Kirbys plans and desires can not sustain these massive displacements and Kirbys ego is to big to big to lose to Dougie and AA. The day hasn’t arrived yet where he has to **** or get off the pot with training and won’t for several months. So why not spread fear and anxiety to get concessions?
Kirbys own words should be enough for us to not trust these displacements. I do think his Hail Mary will be to cut 20-30%of the pilots on Oct first to show he’s “serious”. But if he does we will be smaller than all the other domestic carriers and will be drifting off into oblivion. How long will he allow that to happen? If we are not equal to or greater than The big three next summer in terms of flights and capacity he will have failed. And he hates failure.

Giving more just seems rediculous. its alright luckily some very smart people always told me to live a few pay scales down.....so my fun money is gone but there’s a roof over my families head and food on the table.

Agreed. I would vote for a recall if TI comes to us with anything concessionary. He KNOWS what the pilot group wants so he'd better toe the line and do what those who elected him are asking for which is NO EFFING CONCESSIONS. NOT ONE. SK will take and take and then take some more. Furlough all of us ya b**tard. See you next Tuesday.

i think this is incorrect. Kirby has done a fantastic job of spooking wall street since the day he got here. He all but told them to pick sand on his growth plan.
