IF (and it's a BIG IF) they were to merge with a carrier like JetBlue, Spirit, or Frontier - you would absolutely 'fund' it whether you like it or not, You would fund it either through a reduction in position (displacement) or even with your job, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.
Last fall I heard Kirby say that he didn't see mergers on the table - because we could grow organically. Well, our organic growth fuel is gone so I wouldn't discount the idea that he'd take another look at merger partners.
The part of our fate that we could control will require unity within our MEC and pilot group. Since we can't seem to stop fighting a 10 year old seniority integration I have little hope we'll ever be unified.
