One last Marvin-ism. They always sign whatever release the dispatcher sends, regardless of forecast weather, maintenance issues, routing, turbulence, etc. “I know the forecast is bumpy at our altitude, and they have us landing with 4.8, but if we add gas, it will cost an extra 100$ to carry it!” Gee thanks, can’t wait to get our butts kicked across the country because Marvin is afraid to add gas.

I just tell the captain I’m too warm and will wait inside the terminal until it cools down. APU always starts immediately and it helps avoid a conflict.

Bingo we have a winner!!!! The only thing I do different is I also tell the captain to come get me when the APU is up and running.
