And if the Ds decide to cut off 'corporate welfare' and stop sending free money to people who get paid >$100K/yr to do nothing thanks to CARES, things get fugly very fast.
What my liberal friends don't seem to understand is that we have a huge target on our backs with the Ds due to the concept of corporate welfare and our salaries. Give Ds full control of government (both houses and POTUS) and they may decide that maximum monthly wage payment via CARES money is $5K/mo.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the targets on our backs. A little indirect example is most of us didn’t qualify for the stimulus check. Somehow it was dire for the economy, except for us high income earners according to both parties.

It's truly sad that there are so many people like you who have zero concept of what falls under the purview of federal government and what falls under the purview of state government.
What you want is an extremely strong federal government - the kind that creates dictatorships. Fortunately, people much smarter than you or I recognized that one doesn't want too strong a federal government so quite a bit of the decision making that you are wailing about is the responsibility of each state governor.

There wasn't a carveout for high income earners in the first CARES bill. Do you contend that the Democratic leadership wanted to limit high income earners while the Republican leadership wanted no limits on high income earners? My understanding is that in general the D's were for the grants and the R's were against the grants.

You do understand that high income earners like airline pilots are not really the wealthy demographic that the R's are looking out for right? We make good money, but we're not WEALTHY as a result of this career. Think of yourself as expensive gum on the sole of their shoes.

Imagine if, four years ago when a black president was still in the WH, that president ordered federal police into cities to make arrests against people protesting the possibility of gun control. Remember operation Jade Helm? A bunch of right wingers scared that the scheduled joint forces exercises in Texas could possibly be a government(federal) takeover of Texas in order to take guns away. Even our governor(Texas), in an effort to ease the anxiety of those who believed in this conspiracy, sent the texas guard to "monitor" the activities. A republican friend of mine in the state legislature said most of the educated republicans were laughing about it and felt for the representatives of the heavily populated districts affected. Now, we actually have a wannabe fascist sending armed federal law enforcement into certain cities and the left is up in arms but the right seems okay with for some reason. Can't have it both ways.

The furloughs, concessionary contracts, and market contractions have all come when we elect the “Conservative” party. Lol. (This year’s 4T deficit will make Obama look thrifty).
