That’s not true, I got a free book on interviewing for success the last time my ALPA airline went belly up.

[QUOTE=Hot Dog;3103454]And many never even made it to class if they were slated to start this year. I’m not exactly sure how many Compass folks made it through the cracks before COVID hit the fan, but I do know the class sizes at Alaska are only 7 new hires. A good few of them come from Horizon if not half. The last new higher class this year was in March. Correct me if I’m wrong but Compass went titts up in April this year. There’s no way possible Alaska would have hired anyone past March, and if they did they never even stated day one.

I personally have friends at xjt who have interviewed and are in the Aviate program. United emailed those
individuals and told them they’re still in the program and will still move over to ual when hiring resumes.

Just met a Compass guy let go 6 Apr and hired by Atlas 6 Apr, timing is everything. Quite a few from Compass/Trans States hired from talking to the OE Captains so there are some intermediate soft landings going on so there’s that. We’re not ALPA, but doubtful Teamsters has anything to do with it either is just a guess. Come on in, the water is fine... for now.

But credit where it's due... AS actually ran a couple classes after the travel collapse, apparently to avoid screwing guys who had resigned from previous jobs in good faith.

I’m former Compass and started at Alaska December 2019. There were a couple other Compass guys in my class. Ironically, I didn’t pass the Hogan last August at UA. What started as a nightmare ended up being a blessing in disguise...

They avoided furloughs since they had enough interest in their voluntary leave options. Surprising how that works when a company offers reasonable options.
