Been there and done that, but now you won’t since I am contributing 60k. They will furlough in 8 months, you can bet on it.

I’m with ya...though I’m a carve out. Got hired here 20+ yrs ago. Think starting pay was about $48k a year. Furloughed after 3yrs after just beginning to make about $110k. Gonna be a lot of folk takin it in the jimmy though. Best you can do is the best you can.

Many of us got to get kicked in the balls by United, BEFORE we even came here.

And we won't even get to spend 22 years here. And now we get kicked in the balls here.

Agreed, I'll be in that club if this thing passes.

You’re probably the same guy who checks to make sure everyone has their ALPA pin on their tie in show of solidarity with our union. A lot of our brothers and sisters true colors coming out now.

Was not displaced and going from 73 hours to 53 = kicked in the nuts.

Are you a line holder?
if so, is something stopping you from picking up?

Picking up? Just crawl out from under a rock?

I guess I am. Please elaborate. What am I missing that prevents you from picking up open time.

We are in a union, but not a socialist union. I contribute my dues to better the profession and am proud to do so. I contribute to the furlough fund to help guys out with health insurance and happy to do so. But I draw the line in taking a reduction in mpg to the tune of $4800 a month to pay other pilots salaries.

The lines are going to be built to a stupidly low level as I understand it. Therefore, the super senior will be the ones picking up the open time. Unless you're in that group, you can likely forget about seeing anything in open time other than occasional crap. And that's IF there is any open time. Depending on BES you may either line your pockets or eat sand. The level of open time in my last seat was abysmal. It matters not what your pay rate is if you can only bring home X hours per month.

And correct me if I am wrong, but there will be guys bumped from the left seat to the right who will get to keep their Captains pay rate. They will likely be super senior in BES. They will be the ones slurpoing up the open time, and at Captains pay. And if the company is offering premium pay, they will be making more than the Captain. Nice work if you can get it. Eat sand if you can't.

I pity anyone that has to fly with you for a LONG time.
