Sometimes true leadership is making an unpopular decision for the better good!!! This is something that has been lost today with the polarization of everything. Unfortunately, this whole thing became too much like our political rhetoric today, with the attitude of if you’re not with me, then you’re against me. This is a tragedy of our Society.
For all of you who voted yes to save our brethren from being released into a job market that is the worst since the Depression, thank you!!! For those who voted no, I sincerely appreciate and am thankful for your sacrifice!!! Especially since you didn’t want this to happen. Right now is not the time to continue the divisive rhetoric, we need to rebuild bridges with our fellow pilots. We are all UNITED!!! |

"We are all United"??? You have to be kidding right?? Union reps keeping their 94hr pay, top and middle groups work hours stripped and given to guys 2 years on property, carve-outs for displaced CAs to buy votes. This pilot group is so UN-UNITED we get a ccs message to play nice. This ratification will haunt us for 10 years on and no, we cant just move on.
We must be part of the solution rather than part of the problem!!! |
"First of all, TI was unambiguous about the fact that our Union Reps were going to take the commensurate reductions associated with their seniority range..."
ONLY after he was directly and repeatedly cornered about the issue is what I keep hearing. Everything else Cal 73 said is dead nuts on. Dividing the group and pitting them against one another is the single most UN Union thing I have ever seen. This deal should have been DOA. We made UA's problem our problem. And the scars won't heal until the most junior guy today is retired. Way to go ALPA. Way to go Todd. |

Is that evidence that one can hang a hat on? You have disparaged the reputation of someone and the best evidence you have is “what I keep hearing”??? You better have more evidence than that hearsay. What you got for us? Proof please? |

Question: If/when UAL does furlough, how much of a larger PWA change do you think you folks would take to not furlough?

Huge difference between concessionary pay and cutting hours. Guess it doesn't fit your narrative

I think we need to move on and see what happens...it might be a quick learning experience for junior folks or maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised...

No narrative here. Of course, there is technically a difference. I could argue that reducing our guaranteed hours is a concession that effects our total pay, (hence “concessionary pay”) but I think we’re just being arbitrary & semantic, & I think my point was clear even if you take issue with the wording. Like I said, no hard feelings to the yes voters & only time will tell if we made the right call. We made this decision as a group & I'm for moving forward in unity. I’m also for continued respectful evaluation of the situation as it progresses to inform future decision making. Honestly, I really hope the yes votes are the ones who end up being justified by the course of future events.
