Nope. That's still shorter turn times.

Enjoy your first trip to the penalty box.

Pro tip for ORD, even if you’re lost don’t stop moving. Seriously.

Such a myth/urban legend, SERIOUSLY.

It’s definitely a mantra here. I’ve personally heard ground yell at people and it’s really funny. After an RJ stopped clearing the runway: “Clearly you’ve never been here before, we don’t stop here. Welcome to O’Hare.”

SWA has nothing to worry about tho, they taxi at V1 as it is!

I look forward to watching Southwest try to quick turn in ORD and IAH.
We’ll just taxi fast and request intersection departures...the only way we make ATL and LAX work. Or we’ll just build the taxi time into the schedule and our 35-55 minute turns on the gate will continue as they do everywhere else.

The way I think of it is: if it is a safety issue (runway crossing, someone is not yielding as you prepare to transition from A to B or head into the south-port) or Lot is taxing near you… Stop if you have any questions. But if you’re just confused or uncertain, keep moving. Again, obviously erring on the side safety

if the ground controllers have confidence that an airline knows how things work, they will definitely get them out quicker and or give them preference when things are tight. Airlines not hubbed there, or are those that taxi slow/ask too many questions get different treatment. basically, it’s a good thing for all United pilots if you play by their rules

A decade plus flying 1-6 legs a day in and out, half of it as a CA. And yep, landed plenty of times and found my way to gate without ever talking to a controller after clearing because of radio congestion.

And yeah, I’m here, it’s a silly mantra everywhere.

So someone stops, what? They gonna violate them because they have no further instructions? In the words of Lt. Aldo Raine “nah, more like chewed out. I’ve been chewed out before”

There’s a certain controller that likes to blab on the radio and FUBAR things in the process, THEN holds the transmit button down so no one can talk and clarify their incompetence.

Wanna get their attention when they’ve screwed things up? Just STOP. Works great, lasts a long time, then tell her what you’re going to do.

Besides, it’s better make fun of/snicker at all our own geezers as well as AA’s that have been flying out of ORD for decades and STILL can’t read back a clearance and sound like Hellen Keller on the radio because their so “afraid” of ORD

In this thread;

UAL pilots thinking they're badass for mastering Chicago Ohare, failing to realize every RJ pilot in the country already figured it out for $35 an hour.

True.

At ~$20 it was true resident level rocket surgery.
