To play the Reserve game, I’ve been trying to aggressive pick up two FSB/SC first thing at the beginning of the month...you’re pretty much set to be left on LSR (Long Call) the rest of the month, as they have to start paying you that extra hour add pay after that. On the BUS there’s 40+ reserves on any given day (for now)
crew desk doesn’t really care about the 1 hour add pay for each SC/FSB assigned. The only benefit of getting two SC/FSB under your belt early in month is that it opens up SC bypass rights of the UPA. This ties the crew desk hands forcing them to bypass those with 2+ SCs if another pilot in same SILO availability has less than 2.

We’re saying the same thing.... agree to disagree with the wording...

With UAL, AAL, and DAL operating on the route, it looks like you have 15 to 18 flights per day. I would think that would be pretty good.

I believe it went to a new hire earlier this year. It was unheard of and I wouldn’t count on it. I’d say within a year from what I’ve seen but movement once you are at iah will be verrrry slow

Correct. There has to be a vacancy that you can hold and then you have to wait for the award to get activated. Other option is a base trade but those aren’t that common I’d say

EWR is only 20 minutes further from DTW & pretty good frequency to all airports served (EWR/LGA/JFK). Seniority progression would be far better in EWR than ORD.
