I understand there once was a SEA base? Does that make the SEA-SFO commute terrible?

What aircraft are at which bases right now. Does Iad still have the 767 group. What’s the hold time I guess to get to Iad.
Thanks.

they reopened IADs 756 base in July… it usually goes more junior due to DCs high real estate… so don’t expect a long wait if you initially get EWR as the base is growing again.

Yes. One of the worst commutes in the airline. Both FA's and pilots. Same reason.

I see a lot of East based banter, so let's talk West. For a guy in PHX, I'm assuming SFO should be available off the bat. But what about DEN or IAH?

probably not too long of a wait for DEN. IAH has been senior for a while. Even after you hold it, plan a significantly slower seniority path.

If you live in Phx; lax is 100% the answer. Just about as junior as sfo now; better weather; way more flights; can drive if all else fails. Source: me as a new hire who commuted to lax from Phoenix.

Any advice for someone planning on staying in SLC? The commute to LAX has more flights, but SFO has more UA/UAX. The goal is to get DEN eventually.

From slc I’d also suggest lax over sfo. And remember while Denver has certainly become more junior it is still way more senior than lax or sfo. For my bes I’m roughly 40% in sfo/lax and 73% in Denver.

Thanks. The BES comparison is helpful. Is it true that LAX based pilots could be required to report to multiple airports? How often does this happen? I imagine it’s not too much trouble for line holders. I’m a little worried about commuting to LAX as a reserve during my probationary year.
