I was just at TK last week for CQ and the word was 45-60 days. YMMV.

In my case, it would be 54 days, but it could've been 47, due to my availability.

How much more senior is DCA over EWR to hold a line on the 737?

I have a much better setup to sit RSV in DCA (friends and family), but I’m going to commute either way, so if it’s a years long difference to hold a line, I might prefer EWR.

Being in my late 40’s I’m thinking there’s a good chance I’ll be able pick among the first few bids in the class.

Looks like junior line holder in DCA is a mid 2019 hire. EWR is like 400 from the bottom but not sure how that corresponds to a date but movement is significantly slower in the DCA base. 900 numbers more senior...roughly...

Start in DCA while on reserve and then bid over to EWR when you can hold a line there. EWR will always be an option in future vacancy bids ore base trades.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing that (assuming DCA is even offered). How common are the base trades outside of a vacancy bid? My current shop has a similar arrangement in the contract, but it’s rarely used (I honestly don’t know why).

Trading into a jr base like EWR is easier than trading out of a jr base. Right now vacancies are popping about every 6 weeks.
