Ed just said that Delta will mandate once fully approved…only matter of time

 

Ok all, we clearly have our differing opinions, and most are grounded in our personally held beliefs, whether that be science or freedom or something else - me too.

But when it comes down to it, unless you have an approved waiver we are either getting the vaxx or finding a new job soon. The question is, how many of the die hard pilots on here (and in the company writ large) will actually stick to their guns and go elsewhere?

My guess, few. Maybe even none unless they are retiring shortly anyway.

 

Great points. I seriously doubt that anyone will be terminated and most of the banter is just that. I seriously doubt the company will fire anyone with a medical excuse. Guess what, the Doctors are just as divided as we are; along political lines. I know of a great doctor with presidential acclaim, who will give any of these guys an excuse:

Maybe, there’s some value in United touting that 100% of employees are vaccinated, with the exception of those with medical excuses?

The real threat is a Vax vs. Anti-Vax breakdown in CRM…no one will be very forgiving of that.

I actually don’t know anyone that is skeptical about this that is anti vax. They have all of the normal vaccinations and their children do. The actual anti vax people I know LOVE the COVID vax.

 

There are many contradictions to how we as a Country have handled the pandemic. First, let’s deny it to the point where we are forced to shut down the economy, virtually tear each other apart during the quarantine, try to overthrow the government, then resist the one thing that we might be able to take credit for? Unfortunately, the question of American Exceptionalism has been answered by half of us.

Just get the vaccine or get a Doctor’s excuse. It shouldn’t be this difficult…

not sure where you got that tidbit, but it’s not on DeltaNet, doesn’t show up in a google search, goes against the unions stance, and is counter to everything Ed has said previously.

 

Doing as your told and not being allowed to ask questions is NOT American Exceptionalism. A question that I and many others want answered, and it’s a very legitimate question, is why does a previously infected person need the vax when all studies to date show no benefit?

The answer is they do not need the vax and have the same level of immunity as those vaxed. To completely ignore this and reject so much as a discussion is to deny true science in favor of authoritarianism without thought.

The my way or the highway approach currently being used is the most anti American thing I’ve seen in my lifetime. This is not a black and white and right and wrong issue. This is complex with many different things to look at, consider, and discuss. The powers that be and people such as yourself shut down anything other than what you want to hear. Nothing exceptional about that, except for the evil it may eventually lead to.

 

Get the vaccine or get a doctor’s note

Option 3, stand up for your right to infect your fellow citizen and get fired….I honestly don’t care what you do.

I’ve seen all continents, at least twice….most Americans have no idea of what an authoritarian government looks like…don’t get me started on the definition of communism. Your choice, I don’t care…

Again, the my way or the highway approach and no discussion allowed. It’s authoritarian no matter how you slice it. You’ll never see yourself as the bad guy, as most never do, but you are.

 

A majority of studies show that the previously infected are still vulnerable to reinfection which is why the CDC still recommends the vax for people that have recovered. Are you saying the CDC is wrong? There are too many contradicting studies or studies being taken out of context by politically motivated people. Are masks effective? About 1 out of 10 studies says they aren't but that is the one study the anti-maskers latch onto. They use the same line "all studies show" they don't work and with two seconds of research you realize that's not even close to true. "True science" isn't selectively choosing which studies you promote when the majority of research points the other way.
