I did global reserve for 3 years, ending 2018 and don't ever remember getting rolled. Heck, there were WB reserves who had beard growing contests.
But sure, global reserves get rolled all the time.
^^ THIS. The most important thing about WB flying is whether or not your body/mind can adjust to hopping a lot of time zones. Sleeping on the jet is critical IMHO.
If you go to WB and you can't stand it, you need to be able to escape. And the only way to do that without having to wait until your seat lock expires is to go to NB CA. So don't bid WB FO until you're senior enough to get NB CA. IMHO.

I've done global reserve on the B756 for more than two years. It's all I know.
Never rolled.
Pre-COVID I could choose to fly or not. At this point in time I fly a lot and have almost no control over my schedule even with aggressive pick up and short call/FSB requests.
Hopefully the staffing will improve soon.
Reserve is fine, even for commuters...but not with inadequate staffing.
