Anyone know why the snapshot would show unfilled CA vacancies? I’m sure there are sufficient bids to fill those vacancies.

Guys are just not willing to jump on it yet or waiting for the final day to put in their stuff. The Captain bid will fill up, and WB FO will be offered in Indoc.

Not so. I know factually someone who bid for one of those vacancies and didn’t get it in the snapshot, but was conceptually “awarded” something lower on their bid list.

There was a reason behind the question.

Is the system smart enough to preclude people from being awarded a CA bid without 1000 hours? Not sure if that applies to your example.

Why the system is smart enough

Not applicable, as they had long ago completed the self-certify entry.

Not sure I understand what you’re saying here.

it’s possible to have a Captain bid in and still not get the award if your percentage isn’t met. Most people who are holding out, are waiting till they can hold weekends off on RSV. I’ve got a bid in to upgrade in lax when I get to 80%. It’s showing 81% as of this Snapshot.

Might still want to have your friend ask the question to crew resources if they are a sub-1k UAL FO. Given that this scenario hasn’t happened in decades, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s only assessing their UAL time (if it even does a check of that)
