There might be human intervention that screens whether or not a pilot is qualified to hold a captain position. I’m not sure if they’re smart enough to include an algorithm that automatically screens for upgrade qualifications.

Not sure I understand what you’re saying here.

autocorrect fail…

Yes the system is that smart to know if you don’t meet the 1000hr requirement

Some pilots, like myself, meet the requirements but had not put in a self certify for hours at a previous carrier. I was scratching my head wondering why my name did not appear when your junior people did for upgrade. I was asked if I had put in my self certify for a previous time. That should be corrected now.

Anyone gone from the bus to the 757? What was it like? How’s the program now a days ?

Might still want to have your friend ask the question to crew resources if they are a sub-1k UAL FO. Given that this scenario hasn’t happened in decades, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s only assessing their UAL time (if it even does a check of that)

One of the few reasons the snapshots are actually useful. I’ve seen myself omitted from a snapshot where the system could understandably have been confused. (In my case, a seat lock that would apply to certain transitions but not the specific one I was requesting.) An email to Crew Resources quickly cleared it up.

The airplane is great. The sims are all wonky and the training is pretty awful.

What do you mean? How is it awful?

I’m retired off the 756 fleet and my daughter just transitioned from 320 to 756 FO. No issues or complaints .

The 757 sims belong in a museum. Gotta be the oldest sims UA has.

My only complaint with the 756 program was all of the differences and the short training footprint for systems. The sims are definitely old, but the instructors were great and did a really good job.
