Except there was no forum for people rant endlessly about a new captain having no captain experience, imagine that.

Been here 4 years 25 year ALPA pilot 20 years of that a captain at another carrier. I got more captain experience then most captains I fly with and never mentioned it once. Been enjoying sitting right seat, no headache over there. Never gave captain advice to anyone I fly with We learn from our mistakes that's how this works. Just don't kill me. I get paid by the hour! We go don't go I don't care fugue it put ill be over here sending dirty jokes to my buddy's

Late 90’s and 2000/2001 pre 9/11 we definitely did.

A good friend of mine upgraded on the Shuttle at 2 1/2 years. junior Capt on the Shuttle. Of course he was ex US Air--with previous guppy time, and AF, so really, a non event. He did fine, but TK went nuts with his tracking.

But, this is different. We will soon have lots of guys with very little experience flying and upgrading quickly. Hoss, I agree, the worst ones are the long time rt seat 777 guys that upgrade to domestic. They are just lost. Many times they are lost on the 777 too. I've flown with several pro-bunkies......not good.

True, most scary guy I’ve flown with here is a long time bunkie, in fact, he went back to the triple.
I rather take that 10-year RJ Capt with under 3 years at Domestic UAL anytime.

Must have been... that was back in the dial-up days.

There are in fact quite a number of pilots on special tracking and have been restricted to what they can bid. Mainly, not a CA bid because of ability and other deficiencies. I think it's AA where if you are not able to upgrade, they have an up or out policy for reasons just such as this.
