Default Priority codes for OAL jumpseaters

Can anyone provide the United priority code order for OAL jumpseaters?

I was Jumpseating on United over Thanksgiving and even though i checked in before another pilot , I got bumped by him.
The gate agent said the computer switched our order and he did not know why.

My boarding pass said - SK8A
I don't know what the other guys was, just that he worked for Spirit.

thanks

What company do you work for? The only difference between any OAL jumpseater (aside from UAX carriers) is whether you are in CASS or not. Otherwise, it is just by time of listing.

So here's the thing about the jumpseats and gate agents. They think they have control, but do not. The Captain determines who gets the jumpseat, and has the guidelines to follow. All jumpseaters who ask to list are given a flight deck access card, regardless of if they are OAL or own metal. That gets you down the jet bridge whenever you find is the appropriate time to go. You then politely ask the Captain for a ride and they determine who gets it. It is not up to the gate agent, or a computer. If a gate agent gives you a hassle about this, ask them nicely to pull up "jumpseat" in "wingtips" and if they still don't, contact your jumpseat committee. Additionally there is no 30 minutes cutoff, that's FA stuff.

Sorry you got hosed.

Well, it would be somewhat surprising if NK had priority at UAL over anything other than BART/MARTA/CTA

Time of check in doesn’t necessarily mean at the gate. It can be electronic. On my recent commute on SkyWest for example I had listed for the jumpseat in CCS but didn’t electronically check in. That night another United pilot 6,000 junior to me listed and checked in online. He went, I got bumped. Had this been on our metal or an exclusive carrier my seniority would have won, but on non-exclusive regionals, first checkin is electronic, either at home or done by the agent at the gate.

I don't think that OAL can check in electronically with United, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's now the case. The ALPA app says gate check in.

And you don't have to be checked in at the gate the plane's flying out of. If you find a gate agent at another gate, they can check you and so can the ticket counter.

The other jumpseater could have been bumped from a previous flight too. He wouldn’t need to check in at the next gate since he was already checked in and would go ahead of subsequent OAL jumpseaters.

Each airline is different. For United you only check in at the ticket counter if it's international. It also says to check in at the departure gate. However, American allows check-in at both gate and ticket counter. If you queue jump out of ignorance you're still a queue jumper. Read the ALPA guidance before jumpseating on any airline and do it right.

Makes sense.

That's great, but ALPA guidance isn't always up to date.
And the OP flies for Northern Air Cargo. Not sure if they're in CASS.

If you aren't in CASS, you can't get "bumped" from the jumpseat because you aren't allowed to ride in it in the first place! You can only go if there is a seat in the cabin.
