Y’all think he’s joking but there’s a forum out there on Reddit where a bunch of people were convinced that employers should pay you the minute you start getting ready for work. The argument was “if I wasn’t working, I wouldn’t need to get dressed in business clothes, keep my hair trimmed, and then commute 45 min to work. I should be compensated for all that extra time.”

As an outsider, what's the rational for your uniform cleaning allowance? Couldn't/wouldn't a haircut allowance fall under the same logic? More $$ is good. Straight pay rates are easily quantified by wall street....things like allowances spend just like increased pay rates but are more subtle as to optics.
Two $20 haircuts/month gets about $500 year. That's better than nothing (unless you think that what you negotiate has ancillary costs to the company ie FA, which would hurt your bargaining position.... less bang for the buck)
