He's not hurting anyone, not hurting you and not hurting our profession. Getting to Captain of a major airline is pretty f-ing legendary IMHO, so good for him. Sounds to me like he is able to not take himself too seriously and knows how to play silly and be comedic. If he wasn't doing something right, he wouldn't have any followers. You are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else, and you know that Swayne is here now, but to have to constantly drag someone down for their personality which is actually a positive one - is just bad taste imho.

Speak for yourself. I own neither cargo shorts nor New Balance shoes. I actually carry real shoes and don’t wear tennis shoes with my jeans. That’s not the point at all. The point is that he’s ultra self-absorbed and comes across like a complete douche.

Yet after watching a few of these videos I find myself unable to wrestle from them any cohesive theme, and certainly no progress towards such heroic achievements as are necessary to inspire the will of a people. JHC. Legendary?!? Becoming a captain is based on two things; Luck getting hired, and timing of that luck (seniority). There is ZERO skill involved in the promotion. Anyone that thinks they’re a CA because they are better than the rest… isn’t. One of the worst captains I ever flew with commuted across the country to hold it because his ego required that fourth stripe.
