With the 73 Max working to KEF next month we have our first true NB Global Reserve. Did a quick search of the UPA as to what constitutes Global Reserve. Means reserve in a category (Base/equipment/seat BES) that has one or more global trips. Global Trip means a Trip that contains one or more Global Flight. Global Flight is not a Basic Flight. A Basic Flight operates within the fifty United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, that portion of S America north of 15 degrees South latitude, Bermuda, and the Caribbean islands.
So it seems that Newark and Dulles are prime for NB global reserve in the not too distant future. That will make reserve commuting suck even more. Bet that keeps the early upgrades and unfilled Capt vacancies coming too as senior FOs wait for line holder percentages. Wonder who wins and losses with new Global reserve NB categories on East coast.

Yep, sorry for the confusion think I was remembering pre-pandemic, thought they had plans for the Max to go to KEF, but yes, CLE crews coming through EWR to the Azores (PDL) in June.
Did not know about the Global Reserve limitations for crew scheduling thanks
