Number 3 is incorrect when you get past the bullet points and read the fine print this is not a good deal for LCA’s either. The override is only per leg, currently it’s per trip that conducts training. It also greatly decreases quality of life with the let the company pick your line with 13 days off maximum and it greatly reduces trip trading ability. So nope this does not fix the LCA issue.
Having said that, there’s no shortage of sycophants signing up to be LCAs. A senior Captain was in Denver last month, and he said he could hear clapping and cheering coming from the room next door. It turns out it was a class of new LCAs going through training.
This is really about getting the PIs paid, and screwing the rest of us in the process.

Tru that. Some LCA events are pure line check trips.
Using the current contract the LCA is paid $27/hour for the whole trip. It normally takes some DHD’ing to get in position to conduct the line check on a multi day trip. (One day out and backs are usually line check both ways)
So on a 8 leg four day line check trip maybe, you may (if it’s really efficient) get 4 line checks in - 4 legs under the new pay rate where it was 8 legs under the current contract. QCL’s are really getting screwed because in addition to line checks they do LCA checks and I checks trips which are even more inefficient than pure line pilot line check trips.
This is not a good deal for LCA’s.

I personally consider this TA a concessionary contract. Work rules degraded( big time for reserves). Very few jewels left in our contract from days past. Premium pickup is one, staying home the last night off on reserve is one. The pay on this is tepid, 5 percent was already agreed to. I think we are better off with our current contract. I’m a no.
