The moderators of the Facebook ‘United Pilot Forum’ indicated a desire to moderate posts that aren’t full of happiness and sunshine. (My words) It has become difficult to share information and debate the UPA 2022 tentative agreement that’s in membership ratification without heavy moderation. If you use Facebook and would like a free speech forum search for “United Pilot Forum UPA 2022” or click this link:

The original Facebook group is actually pretty fair in its rules and moderation (despite being kind of an echo chamber). I personally would rather have a group that's more moderate, nuanced, respects different opinions, and reflects what most of the 13,000+ pilots actually think, not the same 10-20 old dudes posting BS hyperbole and hot takes all day long because they have nothing else to do.
If this group is the former, I hope it does well. If it's the latter, thanks but no thanks.

Exactly. I am not on FB, but I hear the new UPA FB 2022 already has over 1,000 pilots.

These Groups/Forums is just another way to get a message out and have conversations.
We need a Grass Roots movement and if you read something online somewhere, talk about it on the overnight over a bier and dinner!
For years now, we have heard that-
"The Union Speaks for Me"
"No Negotiating in Public"
"Trust us"
If you haven't figure it out yet, it just a control issue.
Company would LOVE to control you not only at work (which they can, to a point) while the Union also wants to control you...
Just do the right thing. We all know what that is~
Fly Safe, Fly Professionally and Fly the Contract

Naive me was surprised by the FB moderators post that came out right after UALPA said they were going back to the negotiating table. They effectively shut down any discourse on recalls. I can't believe the mods are that loyal to TI and crew as to ignore the sentiment of thousands of pilots. In any case I consider it quite tragic that the social media forum with the largest collection of United pilots (over 5600 when last I checked) is owned by those that have caused this latest debacle. I am happy to join the new group and glad to see it's already over 1000 strong and hopefully it keeps growing!
On a separate note is anyone here active in working to recall the Council 5 reps. I'd be interested in joining whatever email chain is out there. Feel free to send me a PM.
