At DAL, you can block your schedule, but it takes an act of Congress (IE MEC action).

I had to field calls almost on a daily basis, from Pilots who thought someone else was “victimizing’ them because they looked at someone else’s schedule and felt that they were being shorted some how. Same few guys/gals every time. Never, I repeat Never Not Once we’re these self-appointed auditors correct in their analysis of the other Pilot’s schedule.

Out of curiosity, how much “special treatment” have you been able to discover while screening your fellow Pilot’s work schedule?

Just seems like a tragic waste of one’s off time to me. Like I said, I don’t care one way or the other. As a solid line holder, I have as little interaction with crew scheduling as possible; but I will state that I’ve found the schedulers to be quite honest. Not saying that they don’t exploit the weaknesses in our UPA, but I’ve never caught one willfully lying to give “special treatment “ to another Pilot.

I do agree with you that we are ALPA. I think that you’re in favor of schedule transparency for honest utilization. I’m only referencing the few bad apples out there who have nefarious or paranoid purposes for viewing another Pilot’s schedule…we’re probably talking apples and oranges.

Look up the pairing and see who got the trip, you can then look up their seniority. Not sure what viewing someone’s entire schedule has to do with this.

At DAL, there is a fairly rigid way how flying is assigned, and there is healthy amount of surveillance by the pilots on how trips are covered, which is viewable in our scheduling system. We have an app that allows you to report scheduling hijinks to the Scheduling Committee fairly easily, and it is analyzed, and many times pilots are paid on the basis of what someone else reported. Kind of a crowdsourced solution, but sometimes the payout is substantial. 10-15 hours is not uncommon and there have been much larger payments.

If you view someone's schedule or personal data, your line is tagged with who did it and when.

At United, there are at least a dozen ways to verify the same information, and more, without pulling a guy’s schedule. In fact, pulling another Pilot’s schedule is probably the least effective way to track trip assignments.

Hate to disagree with you B. Again, we were mentored differently. It’s a matter of trust and supporting the group. Wearing the pin says I have your back. Note post #37. Somehow that mentality doesn’t have my back.
