United to get “dozens” of new 787s from Boeing

https://seekingalpha.com/news/391362...nited-airlines

Since Kirby already said the widebody announcement would be over 100 planes, I bet we end up with 30-40 more 787s and 70-80 A-350s.

It’s an awesome airplane as long as you don’t have to fly with guys that sit up there with their raging Boeing hard one and wax nostalgic the whole time. It kinda kills stage length though. You may find yourself wanting to dial back the Mach number a couple digits. Haha

I've never flown the 787 or 350, but I was coasting out a while back and I heard one of our (UA) 787 flying EWR-JNB request .87 for the crossing. Sparky is no slouch either.

Honest question. What does an A-350-900 offer over a B-787-9 or -10?

Or does it at all?

Flew the A350 (900 & 1000) for 5 yr before coming to UAL. The -900 is approx 777-200 size, & the -1000 approx 777-300 size. Therefore both variants larger / better payload-range than the 787’s. So I guess it depends on the mission they have in mind. Maybe even the 777-9X if/when Boeing gets it’s act together 🫣
