Haha you read that correctly. Of course just my opinion. The Woodlands (IAH) is somewhat decent I think, but other than that…

Are you not counting our 7ER category as WB? I obviosuly dont work for AA but Im hard pressed to believe you're holding DFW 787/777 Capt but wouldnt be able to hold 7ER in ATL or NYC when we have a 24 yr old with about a year's seniority doing just that.

No I’m not including 7ER.

Yeah, I grew up in PA, but lived in warm climates pretty much my entire adult life. Will never be a huge fan of the cold, but PA is low COL and quick drive to EWR with pretty good WB seniority. When I read the AA PHL 78 thread and read how senior it is, I'm happy I'm able to deal with PA 😀

7ER pays narrowbody rates, is dying soon, and doesn't do high paying WB type trips. Not much point in including it in a comparison.

Honestly I envy you. Anyone that can make a NYC hub drivable has it made.

Relative seniority doesn’t really play a huge role in livable hub like DEN for UAL.
I said it's a WAG. Actually a bit of a SWAG when you look at the large w/b fleet counts at all 3 airlines.

The great news at DL is that there's no 767 replacement smaller than a 330/787. Delta's 'larger than 767' fleet, and pilots getting larger aircraft pay, will be larger in the short to medium future.

Not exactly. At DL, the 7ER pays abour $15/hour above all the other NB's (except the 321-NEO, and likely the 73Max when it arrives), which is not as "high paying" as the "true" WB categories I will grant. Because the 7ER category is mixed with NB and WB airframes (757 & 767-300) I would never argue it's a WB category, but it does contain WB's. This a source of debate even amongst ourselves, exclusively because of the pay difference and the "discount" on 763 flying the company gets as a result.

However, the category will be around past 2030 at least, and absolutely does WB type trips on the 76-300. Other than payrates, 763 trips are otherwise identical to the 330/350/767-400 (at DL, the -400 is a separate WB-only category). Further, as Sliceback alluded to, DL has already started retiring the 763's - 6 of approximately 45 remaining will retire next year - no word on how fast after '24. They will all be replaced by 330/350's, and will become the "highest rate" as replacements arrive.

At a minimum, it's a "tweener" category, which does some WB flying. Again, I'm not necessarily arguing it should be in a WB-to-WB comparison without caveat, but just wanted that clarifiation out there.

By wide body he’s meaning highest paying category. Since the ER is significantly less than the 330/350, he’s not counting it.
