United has most widebody flying, but you’ll probably have to fly out of Newark for awhile

Delta has more premium pay opportunities and but will take a long time to get a WB seat. Delta also has double breasted (Aka Russian Navy Officer) jackets

American is the third Major… go here if you can live in base

He's not wrong. Cranky, but not wrong.

Threre's not a right answer and if there were it might well change in 10 years.

#1 rule is drive to work if you can.
#2 rule is really try hard to get over why you are special and cannot move to a base.

You can get a lot of people to argue whether Delta or United are better. It's harder to get people to argue whether American is in the top 2 choices. (Exception: you live in an American base or will retire in the next 10-15 years)

With the new contracts, what are some reasons American would still be viewed as the “third best” major?

Lots of info out there on this site with old contract stuff in terms of pay, QOL, etc.

For someone just about to enter the 121 world, it would be very helpful to read, in broad terms, the major pros and cons for each of the Big 3 with their new contracts in terms of pay, QOL, reserve rules, etc.

Thanks in advance.

What if you're retiring in the next 25 years?
