When you applied has nothing to do with when you get called!!!

Once you have applied, your application is scored. What different things give what different points is the most closely guarded secret there is, but it is safe to assume that more time, ratings, degrees, volunteering, Letters of Recs are worth more points and more checkride failures and DUIs are major subtractions!!

Whenever UA wants to offer more interviews they take the highest scoring applications on file and send out the offer. So, as more offers go out for interviews you get closer to the top for the next round, but as more applications come in they may have more points than you do so you may get pushed back down the list.

Given the crazy world we live in today, we have a bunch of folks at other airlines that have significant experience applying here now. I am guessing that a good number of more experienced Spirit pilots that hadn't applied before are now applying to UA, DL and AA, so I think the points required to get an interview has prob gone up recently as these new apps have come in.

Additionally, 10 years ago you would never have thought of coming to UA over WN if you wanted to live in Denver and be a Captain as soon as possible. Now the fastest way for a non-UA Denver pilot (Southwest or Frontier) to become a Captain in Denver is to come to UA. You can get the Captain assignment as a New Hire and get trained as a FO for a year and then get trained as a Cap a year later (Captain pay after 350 hours as an FO). So, we are getting apps from some very experienced WN and Frontier folks as well.

All of that (plus Fedex) means folks with less experience may not hear as quickly as they did previously but all you can do is keep updating your app to get more points and hope that others with more points get offered interviews so the points required for the next round goes lower. But understand that the only thing "when you applied" has to do with "when you hear" is that you have to apply in order to have your name somewhere on the list, so just apply and then update, update, update...

Of course no one really knows for certain what things will look like even tomorrow, but what is the general consensus internally on when United classes resume? Barring any more major changes to the Boeing delivery schedule or economy should we expect classes to move forward every week once we hit July or is this already an optimistic outlook?

Are there Dreamliner crews in IAH? If so what is the most junior 787 FO in IAH?

Having glanced at the recent PBS award for May it seems the most junior 787 IAH FO is at around 15800 system seniority. 06/23 hire date

Plug is a June 2023 hire, but got in via a base trade (probably before new retrictions prevented base trading into a category as the most junior guy). Only one other IAH 787 FO has been on property for less than two years. Two years is probably a decent guess for how long to hold it currently, subject to Boeing's ability to deliver. I'd expect to be on reserve for a while though... g-line is probably in the 9K-10K range currently in terms of seniority numbers.

Hi all. Got the assessment. Is this something I should prep for or just take it? Is it only the personality test or some other tests also? Is an iPad sufficient or desktop? Thanks in advance!

I would do it on the laptop. That’s said, it’s just a personality test, nothing to prep for

Just a personality test, and I don't trust anything this important to a mobile device. The only prep you need is to mentally add "at work" to the beginning or end of each statement.

Default PAPA job fair

Has anyone received notice that they will get to interview for United at the PAPA Aerospace expo? I’m attending mainly for that purpose but haven’t heard anything. Thanks
