Welp, I guess because Boeing but looks like revised hiring #s for 2025 is now 950. Down from 1700. Hopefully this is worst case scenario

That is the best case scenario. Worst case scenario would involve more issues at Boeing, issues at Airbus, issues at other suppliers, or an economic slowdown. The economy has been strong for a while and it’s only a matter of time before it slows down or goes in reverse for a while.

We have to replace over 400 pilot retirements in 2025, not counting early retirements and medical outs. I'd be shocked if we only hire 950. We still have 787s, A-321s and 737 MAX planes being delivered. Albeit at a slower pace.

Not to mention the last vacancy bid had 400 FO vacancies on it as well.

My theory is that they are doubling FO vacancies to be ready for unpredictable arrival schedules 737 vs 320.

interesting- didn’t Boeing just figure out the strike? Wouldn’t that mean they are going to ramp back up?

I’m hearing about a large vacancy bid coming in December. Anyone else hear this?

“heard” that as well but seems like if that was the case our hiring #s wouldn’t have been cut in half
