Prior to the strike, Boeing couldn't even meet the government restricted production limit. They spent years putting themselves in this mess, and it will take them a while to dig out. I think that they'll get things worked out and production will increase, but it's not going to happen fast.

The greatly reduced hiring for 2025 is based on post-strike expectations and uncertainty.

agreed boeing is a big ‘ol mess but any sustained increase in deliveries will be meaningful for hiring

How about Airbus delivering half of what they were supposed to. Of the ones they delivered, many have radio issues and or rudder vibrations. Not much better.

United Next Year seems to be the plan.

Does United consider Spirit to be "distressed carrier".

As Hedley mentioned, Boeing couldn’t get efficient deliveries out pre-strike. It’ll be a handful of years for Boeing to deliver at the rate UA would desire.

Add a few more years if there’s any more hiccups in their recovery. Best strategy is to look for substitutions, but AB can’t deliver as desired either

Yes, as well as Mesa as they have pilots on furlough. Both pilot groups would be covered under 21-R of our UPA.
