FWIW, i just did a meet and greet and was told the number for 2025 now is 700 and they believe they are currently overstaffed by 500. I was also told to expect to start in early 2026 if hired and that Aviate, Mil and
meet n greet recommended pilots are the only people getting interviews and CJO's at the moment.

I def thought it was a good sign to hear they kept the line shut down longer than necessary to try and fix QC problems. Hopefully the culture over at Boeing is changing.

I've also read some rumors about AA and DAL scaling back their numbers too on other forums.

Similarly, those smaller pools likely are filled with a lot of experienced applicants due to the landscape right now. Just a guess. Really hard to tell right now - how many in the pool, how many will be hired, etc. You could be one of the very experienced for all I know.

I don’t think the companies knows what to expect from Boeing and Airbus. Especially Boeing, if they bounce back from the strike faster than expected, if the Airbus leases are retrofit quicker etc hiring can be more. I think we are erring on the side of caution. Previously we wanted to hire 2000 this year, so the desire is there if the aircraft are delivered.

i think by middle of the year we will have a good idea how airlines think Boeing is doing for their 2026 projections. If things go to plan by middle of 2025, interviews request will go up and we will start to see them planning on taking a lot more airframes.
2025 CJO’s it seams like have already been awarded. So for people on the outside looking in should target 2026 and pray Boeing continues to make forward progress in 2025 and a full comeback by end of 2026…
I know I’m just some dude on the internet but this is my/his honest perspective from close family leading a team at Boeing…
