I don't see hiring anywhere near those numbers in 2026 but you can't control that. What you can control is flying as much as you can, voluntering either in your community or Union. You can go to every single Job fair and meet with recruiters etc. I think the days of 2,000hr RJ F/Os appplying and getting interviewed out of the blue are over but that doesnt mean lower time people won't get a chance. Focus on things you can control.

Although from previous posts I believe you’re likely a troll, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.

The days of low time, low experience new hires at the legacies are likely over. Things are beginning to shift back to historical norms. What does that look like? Minimum of a Bachelors degree (masters or higher even better), 5-7000+ total time, 1000+ turbine PIC, multiple type ratings, sim instructor and/or LCA experience, extensive volunteer work, and attending job fairs to bug recruiters like it’s your second job.

Never set the “mins” as your target. Aim high and never stop adding to your resume. If the minimums go highly competitive then you will be in a position to compete for a job. If the mins go back to only fogging a mirror then you should be able to simply walk through the door looking like Chuck Yeager.

That will depend on how many pilots are on the street by then and what the other airlines are hiring. If everyone else is hiring <1k and Spirit, iaero, AWAC, FedEx pilots are on the street then potentially pretty high. If everyone else is hiring max effort and furloughed pilots all have homes, then potentially pretty low like it was in 2022/23.

It does not matter. Competitive mins will look different if you flew lead on the blue angels, or you’re a spirit captain, or you never got a cfi or if you’re an Ivy League valedictorian who is Scott’s nephew and you have incriminating photos of him from last thanksgiving. Check all the boxes you can check, fly your butt off, go to hiring events, and pray to whoever you think will help.

You're getting annoying. Take a quick look at major airline hiring statistics for let's say....the first 14 years of this century. A lot of us here had to slug it out through that whole thing. But you're not getting your instant gratification....so you should probably give up.

Yea dawg. Def screwed. Maybe a diff career will be better for you. You should try med school and aim to be a neurosurgeon. Totally rad and the chicks will dig it.
