What else?

There's a reason the rumor is false, the pilot's WEREN'T fired, besides a carpet dance, NOTHING really happened to them.

At what point do you think other pilots should get to voice their opinions? Because if that flight had turned into Aeroflot 2.0, that would affect all of us...

you can voice your opinions all you want but coming over here chastising/ judging/ and otherwise piling on is not necessary.

the quote you have of me above is quoting another poster that said the comments on this thread are asinine and I agree but none of the BS came from United pilots.

Like I have said before, if you want to have a productive conversation let’s have one. But coming on here asking when the fire sale will be so they can 787s and saying United is going to plant one and calling the crew names is out of line.

I'd be a little surprised if the FAA is like "Oh you chewed their arses? We'll just call that good". It's in the major media now.

But, I'm not sure what UAL's manuals say.
I think the Feds can take certificate action for illegal PED use, and for leaving your seat not for physiological needs.

ASAP would likely be rejected.

United’s FOM or CP carpet dance doesn’t really matter if your certificate is suspended or revoked by the FAA, and if it goes public they will likely be forced to take action.

FO should be ok, because they are in their seat not using a PED and the CA has final authority of flight deck door. FO opinion for or against CA decision is likely not relevant.

FO can likely ASAP they were task saturated with PF duties and trying to maintain SA of what CA was allowing, and forgot to look up point out FOM violation.

And various other FOM/security violations.

And for the phone video, certificate action AND criminal action... that's one of those FARs which has matching federal criminal law.

Yes. It's already public.

Better than watching a TV version there's official reports that are MUCH better sources of knowledge. I had pilots want to talk about how the NTSB and FAA 'screwed' Sully after the crash. Their source? The movie. Ridiculous converstation when there's actually 2 good books, one by Sully himself, AND an NTSB report available.

United's FOM aside, the prohibition against PED use is while at your duty station only which you may leave for reasons other than physiological needs

[QUOTE=TallFlyer;3794303]Not on my airframe....

Funny you mention XJT, there's a certain picture on the interwebs of a yougn lady wearing nothing but tight orange pants in the right seat of a 145. The rumor I heard is that it was a ferry flight with a company FA riding along, and none of them were working for XJT long after that.

/QUOTE]

Supposed info posted online about that event - IDENT/DME and time on the FMC have them away. "We don't fly over that VOR that far away." Except on a charter ferry or mx ferry flight that Flightaware time and location agreed with. At first people thought that, like this video, it was fake. But the gear handle was up, slow and high speed buffet tape on the airspeed indicator. :-0 She looks topless...but the reflection in the ND shows that she's still holding her bra across her chest.
