It’s definitely not common, but it’s at least possible. A transcon turn (something like fly DCA-SFO and DH home) at 100% premium is worth around 26 hours… I’ve done a couple of those before. Once you add in SRM with conflict, it starts getting ridiculous. Doesn’t apply to the bottom 90% in a given seat, but there are a couple guys out there that manage to pull this stuff off routinely.

it’s one of those single digit seniority deals where a person is in the right place at the right time. But very very possible.

FO bids with LCA. FO gets all his trips dropped. FOs picks up 100% add pay or lucrative 10 hour 1 day turns that is half DH, sometimes at 100% add pay. Happens frequently. Even easier on a WB where a three or four day trip can be worth 26-30 hours.
