Exactly. Point is, there's little value in status anymore. I'm no longer motivated by free finger food and ****ty beer.

If you are an NB FO you are definitely trying hard because you would have to get well over 120 hrs per month all year. Even a WB FO would have to get over a 100 hrs a month.

Even more than that. Everyone’s definition of trying hard is different though.

True, and trying hard doesn’t necessarily equal working hard.

I was able to score a few 110-120 hour months, simply by being in the right place at the right time, etc.

Still had more days off those months than I did being about 50% BES at a regional. Making more each of those individual months, than my FIRST YEAR at a regional…..

It also depends on your ability to game the system. I'm a widebody guy that lives close to base, so I have a lot of opportunities to make money while still keeping my monthly TAFB at or below 150 hours. I realize not everyone is in that position.

That said, none of us are hurting to the point where the monetary value of status financially moves the needle, and in my case I don't consider the juice to be worth the squeeze.

It’s hard here to credit 130 hours a month even with gaming the system and not work hard. If you can do that and be gone only 6 days a month at Delta, bravo to you.

If you don’t know you should bid narrowbody FO so you can fly with them and see how they do it. Don’t worry, they’ll tell you- often in a conversation about how they hope age 67 passes.
