The Sapphire Reserve card just increased its annual fee 45%. I'm guessing Amex Platinum and the various hotel/airline branded premium cards will follow soon.

The Sapphire Reserve is essentially just catching up to the Platinum's fee. I'd be surprised if Amex increased it again.

The Reserve card is now $100 more at $795. Amex is saying they plan to do a Platinum card refresh with major changes by the end of the year - I'd be *very* surprised if it didn't include a fee increase. Hell, even $995/yr wouldn't surprise me.

personally, I wouldn’t mind if they increased it to $3K+. Be nice to see fewer people surround the all you can eat buffet and bar at the airport clubs (wearing pajamas and shower shoes).

From: 18%er but I’ll enforce UPA23 to the last period.

Sapphire reserve also dumped the restaurant option from PP. However I don’t go anywhere they have the Sapphire lounge or whatever it’s called so I dumped the card.

It’s annoying considering I usually stay at Marriott properties for my commutes….

Can’t speak for the Global scene…but for the Non Global ..SWA kid has it right…..it’s more often than not domestically that Mariott properties aren’t participating. It’s kind of annoying but it’s sort of like industry standard that you don’t get points/stay credit/ or lounge access….Why well…..cause you don’t.

Out of interest if you had the choice of points or stay credit, which would you choose?

Also when the Clear line is longer than the Precheck line. At least Global Entry seems to be maintaining its fast track timing.

Personally I choose stay credit, and don’t understand at all why all hotels don’t give that stay credit when we stay at their property. I believe ALPA has some work to do here.

Perhaps ALPA could require each property to provide a stay credit in future negotiations. Until then, ALPA could suggest the companies provide that credit. When I stay at a property that provides nothing to me, I spend exactly zero at that hotel. If ALPA encouraged its 80k pilots to spend elsewhere perhaps that would be enough of a financial incentive for hotels to give stay credits.

Stay credit at least. It is just insulting to not even get a stay credit. Seriously, what does it really cost the hotel? I love the ones that take it so far that they don't even give you points for spending your own money.

I like points, credit, and bennies as much as the next guy, but how is it an insult when we don’t get credit for money that someone else spends?
