So it seems like a lot of emphasis has been on the degree. Do you guys know people who have gotten through lately with 2 year degrees and TPIC time?

There’s a range of the people that get hired. It’s the whole picture. The no degree just makes everything else have to be that much bigger when compared to the average applicant. But those without degrees will always be just a very small minority of those hired. Even when we were hiring by pulse a few years ago.

How long have you had your app on file? did you do any application reviews or anything like that?

your experience is proof that TPIC isn’t a HARD requirement so thank you

Guys do offer a pre test to confirm you’ll pass it but like was said it’s just looked at during the review board as a consideration. I wanted no possibility of it playing a defining yes/no decision.

Coming up on 2 years in the system. Was dormant and untouched for over 6 months. Cleaned it up and reviewed by Checked and Set about a week before OBAP. OBAP was my 3rd time meeting with United, but my first official one-on-one.

Make sure you update your app every two weeks, get it reviewed, and do whatever you have to in order to get a sit down with someone. I don't know anyone important, didnt meet a chief, didnt even have an internal rec. Only have to get lucky once.

I can’t remember, did the application ask about legal
issues 10 yrs or sooner?

I had a DWAI 30 years ago, if the app didn’t ask (I don’t think it did) what comes up
in the interview?
