It’s going to be a whole different culture when all the pre merger people retire. Respectively of course

I don’t understand the thinking behind a purchase of B6. Kirby isn’t a dope, he’s not going to buy a failing airline for the prospect of JFK. From which even if it were to come to fruition, there is 0% chance that even the current administration would let UA have a complete share of EWR/JFK in B6’s current form. Buying assets is a much better option…

He would probably wait for them to fail completely and just take over their slots at JFK

No doubt…….but it’s not because they were here pre merger…..

If we merge, which I doubt, the top 25% of the integration list will be primarily United with some senior JB sprinkled in… middle 50% will be about even, and bottom 25% will lean more United with junior JB sprinkled in with more towards the bottom. Bottom line is nobody happy except the top 25% at United and the handful of senior JB pilots who get sprinkled into seniority’s that can hold WB CA (with some minor fences)… most ****ed off will be the United pilots in the 50-70% seniority range at the time of snapshot… they’ll be upset on how they merge in with JB pilots who will probably be junior to them in total seniority at each company.

Whatever the case we do t have a say…

Sfo 777 FOs go to the top of the list.

agree with most of your post. Especially “we don’t have a say” in the merger happening.

JetBlue started flying in February of 2000. We have a lot of pilots that began their careers at the combined United well before that. I would also hope that the “minor fence” looked like an insurmountable wall when it came to widebodies.

I can’t imagine going through a merger just to get some gates in JFK for SFO and LAX premium traffic. But that goes back to “we don’t have a say”

Merging seniority lists is a simple process. You spend 6 months negotiating with each other and get absolutely no where. You then go to binding arbitration. The arbitrator after about 1 year releases the new list and everyone is ****ed off. Done!
