Just one of the many talents and areas of expertise of pilots on the interwebz. Legal/constitutional experts, law enforcement/self defense experts, financial experts, virologists, poly sci, crash investigators, civil/global affairs specialists, what have you.

unless you’re discussing Northwest and Republic. One airline had widebodies and the other didn’t. Fence stayed forever.

This created the ninjas. As the old Northwest pilots retired, the new hires bid into widebodies as fast as possible. In my opinon, most of these guys were entitled *******s who thought they were better than everyone else. Kind of like some of our post 2022 hires.

They only stayed for 20 years. Lol. When I flew with Republic pilots 22 years later, they were not happy. Divided airline for decades. I believe new hires at post merged airline were not fenced which is where the animosity came in. The Republic pilots rightfully didn’t think it was right being fenced off widebodies so pilots hired post merger could fly them instead.

Might as well been forever. The new hires that filled the positions were obviously younger than the Republic pilots so when fence dropped in 2006, there no open positions to bid. Republic pilots were chasing displacements to they could displace into 747 captain.
